Premiere Pro gains new project tools

Productions is a new panel designed to make managing larger projects easier.

Studios using Premiere Pro have a new toolset to help them manage larger projects with shared assets. Though created for Hollywood feature film projects such as Dolemite Is My Name, they have broader appeal. They allow agencies to separate their work by client, for example – with easy access to assets used regularly such as logos and graphics.

Productions lets you group projects in a top-down way too. A single film production could contain projects for reels or scenes. A TV production could be divided into projects for each episode.

Productions are created by dragging projects into the new Productions panel. They can exist on a single machine or on shared storage to be accessed by multiple editors – with a lock preventing overwriting. Editors can access the work of other editors and copy content from it, but can make changes until you've committed your finished work.

Adobe says Productions are "coming soon" to Premiere Pro, but hasn't given a specific date.
