Check out this punchy, cinematic promo for boxer Chris Eubank Jr ahead of his first title fight

Created by sports specialist creative agency Dunlop Goodrich, Write Your Name Into History is an adrenaline-charged promo which aims to build the hype ahead of Chris Eubank JR's first title fight, against Billy Joe Saunders.

Eubanks Jr will meet Saunders, the reigning British, Commonwealth and European middleweight champion, in front of more than 18,000 fans at the Excel Centre in London, tonight (29th November).

Dunlop Goodrich has a long standing relationship with the Eubanks – with founder Bruce Dunlop producing many of Chris Eubank Senior’s promos for Sky Sports in the 90’s, and creative director Dan Merry having worked with Chris Junior on previous films.

“We shot the film in one day,” said Dan Merry. “We included filming at Chris Jr’s open press training session, as well as plenty of moodily lit, smoke-filled, cinematic staged scenes. We were up at the crack of dawn filming Chris’ early morning hill runs in the South Downs, armed with two Canon 5D cameras and a GoPro mounted on a quadcopter to capture the epic wide shots.”

“The film gets that distinctive, gritty feel by using a black and white treatment, and we occasionally punctuated it with flashes of colour, and the bold, yellow typography,” Merry continued.

“Using a favoured Dunlop Goodrich trick, we projected fight action, explosive textures and fiery footage onto Chris’ body, thereby giving the film an abstract impression. The hard-edged, percussive score is designed to build the edit, hopefully giving the film a restless, relentless energy, as well as a sense of brooding, ominous menace.”
