See how BusBud created this happy, hand-made animated ad

Getting to work getting you down today? Be cheered by this clever and well designed commercial by the creative team for travel app BusBud (above) – and see how it was created in the making-of film below.

BusBud claims to be the largest mobile aggregator of bus travel in the world, enabling travellers to book tickets on more than 80,000 coach routes from operators in the United States, Canada, Spain, France, Portugal and Italy as well as Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina.

This latest commercial has a warmly retro, handmade feel, which is not really surprising when you see behind the scenes.

In the clip, the creative team employs stop motion, illustration, special effects and a lot of carpentry to get the message across.

If this has stirred your inner bus-spotter or if you want even more travel-related art, head over to Behance for some BusBud illustrations by Vancouver-based designer Meg Robichaud.

Busbud has just launched a major update to its iOS app, the design for which integrates the same visuals from the commercial and Behance gallery.
