Our favourite 3D artist adds her magic touch to one of our fave indie bands.
Last summer when we caught up with 3D/AR artist Clara Bacou she was disrupting Honor and Snapchat with some intense, mythical looking creatures. This summer we find her disrupting a new music video for British indie heroes Metronomy, with her telltale hyper-saturated creations floating around the topsy-turvy promo for Walking in the Dark.
The Partizan production comes directed by Metronomy lead singer Joe Mount, and features animation work from both Clara and Etienne Fagnere. The whole video has a great aesthetic, with gamelan ornaments and some strange costuming choices proving a fitting accompaniment for Clara's oddball layerings from a bizarro universe.
Phone dials, gold leaves and dragon heads all have that eye-popping 'Bacouvian' style, which you can discern from this 3D model made for dance act Galantis.
Another recent project that caught our eye was the breathtaking short LUUM, as made for Clara's MA at France's Ecole MoPA.
