Black Panther

Berlin visual effects (VFX) studio Rise created the icy, mountainous environments of 'Jabariland', digital doubles and holographic sequences for Marvel Studios' highly praised superhero film Black Panther.

The studio has just released a VFX breakdown reel revealing how VFX supervisor Jonathan Weber and his team delivered 180 stunning shots for the film.

Watch it below.

Black Panther tells the story of young king, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) of the African nation of Wakanda, and his battle to save his tribe and the rest of the world when a dangerous enemy reappears. Rallying his allies, T’Challa releases the power of Black Panther to secure safety.

As well as creating falling snow, moving sand, digital doubles of the main characters and the entire Jabari gorilla tribe, Rise also rendered Shuri’s remotely piloted holographic car and the Royal Talon Fighter hologram.

Rise has previously worked on films such as Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Dark Tower, Marvel’s Civil War and Doctor Strange.
