Red Giant Software has released two new Photoshop plug-ins: Magic Bullet PhotoLooks and Knoll Light Factory for Photoshop. Magic Bullet PhotoLooks is a new application based on the popular video filter for tools such as After Effects and Final Cut Studio, which offers advanced colour tools for changing the look of a project. It's available as a standalone tool as well as a Photoshop plug-in.

Knoll Light Factory for Photoshop 3.1 is an updated version of the tool created by Photoshop co-creator John Knoll. Itprovides 19 powerful flare tools for creating custom effects and includes over 100 presets and real-time previewing.

Magic Bullet PhotoLooks costs $199 (around £133) was created by visual-effects expert Stu Maschwitz. Red Giant says that the sophisticated presets and customizable tools in make it easy to control lighting conditions and create stylized effects for any image. It can take ordinary photos from a tropical beach or desert sunrise, or use unique tools like shutter streak or bleach bypass for edgier looks that significantly extend Photoshop's capabilities.

Users can share Looks created in Magic Bullet PhotoLooks in After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Avid projects through Magic Bullet Looks. Custom Looks created in Magic Bullet Looks are also recognized in Photoshop through Magic Bullet PhotoLooks -- which is designed to allow users to work seamlessly with digital images and video.

Red Giant says that customers who buy now will qualify for a free upgrade of Magic Bullet PhotoLooks when the next release of Adobe Photoshop becomes available.

Knoll Light Factory for Photoshop 3.1 gains a new user interface adds previews, undo, and a single editing window; and 50 new presets. It costs $149 (£100) and runs under Photoshop CS3/CS4, Photoshop Elements 7.0/8.0 on 32- and 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7, and Mac OS X 10.6.
