The designers behind the Marauder’s Map, the Daily Prophet, jokes from Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes and other popular props from the Harry Potter series of films have reproduced a collection of their work for the movies s as limited edition prints.

Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima met on the set of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001, where they created hundreds of unique graphic prop designs for all eight films.

Now that we’ve seen the conclusion to Harry’s epic journey, Mina and Lima have decided to celebrate by looking back through the films’ graphic prop archives. The design duo selected eight of the images they created on set at Leavesden Film Studios, which is now home to the Harry Potter Studio Tour, where you can see many of the extraordinarily detailed props, sets and costumes used in the films.

Harry Potter Fans from all over the world voted for their favourite artwork from the eight images picked out by Mina and Lima, and the four most popular prints were chosen to become The Printorium’s launch collection.

“The first generation of Harry Potter fans who grew up with the films are at that first home stage, and having outgrown the usual merchandise are looking for something genuine and authentic from the films to display in their homes – that touch of nostalgia presented in a more grown up way,” said the designers, describing the reasons behind the decision to reproduce their work as a print collection. “Equally, we’ve had emails from graphic design lovers in the past asking if they can buy props like the Daily Prophet because they’ve appreciated their unique graphic style.”

Not surprisingly, The Marauder’s Map was chosen for the collection. The magical map helped Harry and co. manage mischief throughout their years at Hogwarts, but thankfully, The Printorium version of the prop doesn’t appear as a blank piece of parchment when in the hands of us Muggles.

Also available is a print of the front page of an issue of the Daily Prophet with ‘Harry Potter Undesirable No.1’ emblazoned on it, which was designed for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part One.

The colourful 422nd Quidditch World Cup poster is the third prop to be reproduced as part of The Printorium collection. The poster was designed for use in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth film in the series.

Finally, a cover of The Quibbler, the magazine that was originally designed as a prop for the set of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and provided Luna Lovegood with her 3D Spectrespecs, has been included in the collection.

There are only 1000 of each print in The Harry Potter Collection available, at prices ranging from £69 to £179. Each print is numbered, embossed and signature stamped. They also come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

An additional 250 of the four prints have been produced as part of the Premium Harry Potter Collection, all of which are embellished with gold foil, embossed and signed by the designers. The Premium prints will set you back £349.

The collection is available to buy from The Printorium website.
