AI powered Content-Aware Fit is coming to 'InDesign 2019 CC'

Adobe announces an easier way to help designers place images in InDesign.

InDesign 2019 CC is coming - as it'll probably be called - and Adobe have given a sneak peek of the AI-powered Content-Aware Fit tool you'll be using with it once released.

This feature uses Adobe Sensei to help you place images into frames by automatically scaling and repositioning the image with the best parts of it displayed. With Content-Aware fit, images are automatically framed based on the context and focal point - as the video below will show.

Here’s an example below of an image placed in an InDesign document with different fitting options applied. Content-Aware fit recognises the cabin as the focal point. Negative space is intentionally added to the final fitting to maintain the image composition.
