ScanMaker 3800 debuts

Microtek has launched the ScanMaker 3800, and A4 flatbed device that features a 600-x-1,200 resolution and 48-bit colour. The low-end scanner, aimed at home users and Web designers, costs just £79.99 inc VAT. The company says the scanner represents superior technology at an entry-level price. The ScanMaker 3800 sports a 48-bit colour depth, which means it can capture over 281 trillion colours. It has a USB interface, built-in OCR, and either Adobe Photoshop LE for the Mac or Adobe PhotoDeluxe 4.0 for Windows.
