Samsung has introduced two new 12-megapixel compact digital cameras. The TL320 and the HZ15W will cost $380 (around £260) and $330 (£225) respectively in the US when they hit the streets there in May and March. UK pricing and availability has yet to be confirmed.

The TL320 (below) sports a 3-inch HVGA AMOLED screen, which takes less power than a traditional TFT-LCD display and offers a higher contrast ratio (10,000:1). It also records HD video at 720p and features HDMI connectivity using a cradle.

The camera has a 5x optical zoom lens and records video using the H.264 codec. Other features include optical and digital image stabilization, an 'Advanced Picture Mode' that helps you fine-tune colour tones, automatic album creation, face detection, blink detection, smile shot and beauty shot modes and 'Smart Auto', which automatically selects one of 11 scene modes depending on the composition.

The HZ15W (above) has a 10x optical zoom, optical and digital image stabilization, and 720p video recording. It features a 3-inch LCD display and touts automatic controls like face detection, smile shot, blink detection, beauty shot and smart auto modes.
