SOS, the messaging campaign behind the Live Earth global concert series on July 7th 2007, are set to release 60 short films created by a plethora of award winning directing talent including names such as Kevin MacDonald (Last King of Scotland), Rob Reiner (Spinal Tap) and Aardman Animation (Angry Kid).

Rushes worked with three of the directors, Suzannah Deakin of Slinky Pictures, (Round and Round) Big TV from Fabhand Media (Polarbearman) and Alex Smith (The New Normal) to create the wonderful and poignant films which make you smile, laugh and cringe.

The mission of the SOS Short Films Programme is to create a series of compelling and informative short films between 1 and 10 minutes in length that highlight the problems with, and the solutions to the global climate crisis.

The short films will broadcast on a variety of television networks worldwide in the run up to and during the concert events on the 7th of July. The films are also being streamed online via global online partner MSN as well as being shown at international film & music festivals throughout the summer before being released on DVD later in the year.

“Global warming is a generational challenge requiring a global response. The SOS Short Films Program harnesses some of the world's most creative minds to educate, inform and inspire people across the globe to solve the climate crisis," former Vice President Gore said.
