Adobe has released Adjusted Refresh, a plug-in that reduces the amount of time Photoshop CS takes to redraw previews of some filter updates.

The plug-in, for Windows PCs and Macs, reduces the size of the Photoshop image tiles. According to Adobe, this causes the display to redraw in smaller pieces, reducing the time it takes to see the updated preview. The Adjusted Refresh plug-in will also reduce the initial scratch disk usage after you launch Photoshop.

Adobe warns that overall performance may be reduced for users with multiple processors or more than one gigabyte of RAM. The plug-in is available to download from the Adobe Web site.
