Digital-Tutors adds online training for perspective drawing, Nuke and Softimage

Digital-Tutors has added three new courses to its library of online training courses: Fundamentals of Perspective Drawing, Mental ray Rendering Workflows in Softimage: Final Gather, and Rotoscoping Techniques in Nuke. The courses are available with the purchase of an Annual Subscription.

Fundamentals of Perspective Drawing covers foreshortening; linear perspective; working in one, two and three point perspectives; drawing ellipses and cylinders in perspective; weapon concept including mapping the body, applying grids to the body and handle, mapping the handle with perspective lines, rough linework to define shapes, beveling corners, adding recessions and rounded corners, drawing in the barrel, adding details, refined and curved linework, and adding thick outlines and values.

Mental ray Rendering Workflows in Softimage: Final Gather covers enabling final gather in Softimage renders; luminous materials; adjusting rays, point distribution, falloff and trace depth; controlling radius values; image-based lighting; altering the visibility of meshes; primary and secondary bounce colors; saving and re-using point maps; reducing flickering in animations; and lighting exercise.

Rotoscoping Techniques in Nuke covers creating a shape and tracking objects for rotoscoping; connecting trackers to the Bezier shape; using multiple shapes and adding tracks for accuracy; stabilizing for rotoscoping; multiple shapes; head shapes; keyer to extract details; color correction techniques; removing jitter; fixing body shapes; tweaking for clean movement; fix interpolation issues; and making final changes.

Subscriptions to Digital-Tutors site, which provide access to all courses, start at $45 (£28) per month or $399 (£250) per year.
