Adobe opens site to help you design your own Photoshop, Flash and AE filters

Adobe has opened a new dedicated Pixel Bender Technology Center, providing info about the technology that enables creatives to design their own filters for use in Photoshop, Flash and After Effects.

According to John Nack on Adobe, Pixel Bender technology enables fast, GPU- and multicore-savvy filters to run in Photoshop, Flash, and After Effects, delivering a common image and video processing infrastructure which provides automatic runtime optimization.

Adobe introduced a new version of the Pixel Bender Toolkit in April 2009, offering the ability to edit, compile and run Pixel Bender Graphs supported in Photoshop and After Effects.

The Pixel Bender Toolkit includes the Pixel Bender kernel language and graph language, the Pixel Bender Toolkit IDE (an integrated development environment for Pixel Bender), sample filters, and documentation.

Adobe also offers a active Pixel Bender Exchange where developers share their Pixel Bender Exchange where developers share their filters.
