The 2001 Adobe Calendar has been unveiled by the company at a launch party in London. The calendar comprises of a wall calendar plus a CD-ROM containing all of the twelve images plus four animations. The calendar, of which only 500 copies are made, is sent out to art directors and other senior figures in the UK advertising and design industries. It includes work from a list of artists very similar to that of 2000’s calendar – such as Daniel Mackie and Simon Pemberton, both of whose work has appeared in Digit. This year’s theme was taken from Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C Clarke’s film ‘2001’, with the brief for artists being ‘are we alone in the universe?’. The artists will be featured on the Adobe Web site throughout 2001.
