Every music video available online?

"What we really want to do is in six to 12 months, maybe 18 months, to have every music video ever created up on YouTube."

Those are the words of YouTube co-founder Steve Chen, speaking to Reuters about current negotiations with the music industry to make YouTube the go-to site for free music videos (supported by ads, of course).

Of course, "every music video ever created" really means "every music video ever created by whoever we make a deal with," but it's still an interesting proposition, considering that Chen understands that user-generated content (i.e., reviews, recommendations, and blog linkage) is critical to the endeavor's success.

Hey, so long as I can call up Mojo Nixon's "Elvis is Everywhere" whenever I want, I'm happy.
