Jamie Jones is an Illustrator who trained at UWE Bristol. His favourite tools are his lightbox and computer.
Where did you train, and what did you specialise in?
I studied Illustration at UWE Bristol.
What are your favourite tools?
My lightbox and computer.
What techniques do you use the most?
I mainly use a lightbox or tracing paper to draw shapes from the linework in my initial drawings, because this allows me to edit them. I also prefer the quality of a hand-drawn line to a digital one.
What’s your favourite piece you’ve created?
This is usually my most recent, but if I had to pick one I’d say The Bottom Of The Light. I think the colours work well and I love drawing interesting objects.
What kinds of materials do you work with?
I like to use traditional materials such as pencils, fine liner and brush pens, and any textures I can scan in.
The Bottom Of The Light is based on Gabriel García Márquez‘s short story, Light is Like Water
