Blackmagic Design’s series of DaVinci Resolve master classes at BVE 2011 this week will be led by two top UK colourists, Darren Mostyn and James Tonkin.

On Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 February at 5pm, Darren Mostyn will demonstrate his skills and experience in grading a recent BBC documentary. Darren is owner and senior colourist for Brighton-based post production facility, Online Creative, which opened in 1999. With years of editing experience using non-linear color grading systems, Darren has worked on a wide range of editing systems and programs, including documentaries, sports and features for the BBC (1,2,4 and BBC Scotland), Turner, ESPN and Granada, and numerous indie films.

On Thursday 17 February at 3pm, James Tonkin will show how the DaVinci Resolve can be used in a DSLR workflow. Since Hangman Studios opened it’s doors in 2001, James has created documentaries, commercials and DVDs for a number of artists, from Bjork and Craig Armstrong, to companies such as Jaeger and Coco De Mer. Tonkin has also directed music videos, commercials and documentaries for Robbie Williams.
