Submissions are now being accepted for the fourteenth annual Rushes Soho Shorts festival, celebrating the best in British and international short films in categories ranging from animation to factual and music video.
The event will run from 11 to 20 July. Awards will be presented on the penultimate day, with Digital Arts editor Neil Bennett among the judges. The festival programme will be announced in June.
Last year, the hotly contested Animation award went to Sumo Science for Dot (above), a stop-motion film shot through a microscope with a 9mm-high protagonist. The Broadcast Design gong was given to Smith & Foulkes for its The Chase spot for Intel, which made an action thriller
mimicking social media campaigns.
Other winners included Two Laps (above) and Worship (still below) in the International and Newcomer categories.
Work submitted must have been completed in 2011 or this year, with 5 April as the closing date for entries. The entry fee is £15 (£10 for students). For more on how to take part, visit entries.sohoshorts.com.
