Game of Thrones Season 6 in GIFs: now with one more hilarious looping GIF

Eran Mendal's amazing animated GIFs featured some of our favourite GoT characters and scenes from Season 6 – and now he's dropped a new GIF about one of the final episode's shocking surprises.

Throughout Season 6 of Game of Thrones, Tel Aviv-based illustrator and animator Eran Mendel created one looping GIF a week – focussing on an iconic moment from each in a way that's bound to raise a smile (though perhaps a sad one for Episode 2).

Since the end of season we've been missing his GIFs almost as much as the show – but thankfully we haven't had to wait until 2017 for more. Eran's created a new GIF based on what Arya gets up to in the final episode – The Winds of Winter – after leaving what's been dubbed 'the world's most annoying cult'.

Now as a rule. we don't cover unofficial fan tributes to Game of Thrones, primarily because there are more of them than men in the Lannister army - and most of them are about as awful as Ramsey Bolton's fate at the end of Battle of the Bastards.

However, we couldn't not cover these – as they just so fun.

Step 3

Rendered in simple shapes and exaggerated motion, there's a genuine charm to these animations - probably because for the most part Eran has concetrated on moments of humour or happiness (or at least relief). And it's clear Eran has been following Disney's 12 key principles of animation, which you can also see as looping GIFs through that link.
