Speakers include the V&A's head of digital projects and the designers behind the British Journal of Photography's digital magazine.
A free event hosted by digital publishing solution developer Mag+ brings together app creators from the V&A museum and the publisher behind magazine apps British Journal of Photography and Popular Science UK to discuss best practice for creating enjoyable, informative and successful digital publications – both magazines and commercial content for clients.
The Appspresso event takes place at the PPA in central London on Wednesday April 24.
Speakers include Malcolm Sutherland, head of digital projects and apps at the V&A. He's tasked with constructing the V&A’s digital future, and will share his experience of creating a digital strategy from the ground up, how the small V&A digital team overcame a number of cultural and practical hurdles, defining their apps with maximum consideration for audience, content, quality and price.
Mick Moore from Apptitude Media will share hands-on experience of bringing the British Journal of Photography (above) to life and integrating it into the magazine’s workflow. He’ll talk through how the magazine was completely re-imagined and redesigned for iPad and more recently iPhone. Mick will explore the challenges of creating a digital-only magazine app and preview Apptitude Media’s first digital-only launch: the brand new iPad magazine Fade To Black.
Also speaking are Apptitude Media's founder Marc Hartog and Mag+ CEO Gregg Hano.
