Adobe has revealed tools for creating interactive elements directly inside InDesign that will most likely appear in the next version of the DTP application. They appear in a video on Adobe's site by Colin Fleming from Adobe's InDesign team.
The video sees the tools running inside InDesign for the first time. Currently available in beta, where it has already been used for digital editions of magazines such as Wired, the Interactive Overlay Creator runs as a standalone app. With this new version, this has become the Overlay Creator panel within InDesign – making creating and adding elements such as controllable video, slideshows, panoramas and web content much easier.
The video was shown as a 'technology preview', which gets Adobe out of having to say when the new version of InDesign is going to be released.
Adobe has also released videos showing improvements to its motion media products including After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition (including the audio software running on a Mac for the first time), and the Media Encoder. The company has also provided a sneak peek of a future version of Flash Builder.
