Manchester's Urbis Centre and Cornerhouse are set to host the Exposures Festival from Sunday onwards, celebrating new British talent in filmmaking and animation.
Now in its 15th year, the five-day festival bills itself as the UK's leading student film event; there is a packed programme of screenings, as well as workshops and talks aimed at aspiring filmmakers. Monday (November 24) is the Underexposed screening programme, featuring short films in noir, suspense, animation and sci-fi genres.
Other highlights include a writing workshop with the writing team behind hit TV series Shameless, and a series of short film screenings roughly themed around cinematic greats, such as the Great Escape.
