Aardman, Dreamworks deal flushed away

Aardman Animations and Dreamworks have ended their production deal early, after only completing three of five planned films, reports the BBC.

Both companies blamed a difference of focus for the end of their relationship, with Dreamworks wanting to concentrate on CG-based animated films and Aardman returning to its roots in claymation. However, the last two films co-created by the two companies -- Flushed Away and Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit -- have both reported losses.

$border=0 /><BR></div> </p> <p> Dreamworks intends to produce two CG-based animated films a year and has planned its roster until 2010, according to president Jeffrey Katzenberg. </p> <p> Aardman is working on "an ambitious slate of feature film projects" according to founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton, which will be announced shortly.
