Eyeon ships Fusion for Linux

Thursday 21 Dec 2006 - 09:45

eyeon has released the Linux version of Fusion. Based on the recent December release of version 5.1 of the visual effects software, Fusion on Linux is the company’s next universal platform initiative.

“We have been working hard on Fusion Linux, discovering along the way the necessary changes required to provide a product equal to the task of both the Fusion and Linux communities," says eyeon CEO Steve Roberts, "We’re really proud to deliver this in time for the holidays… I need some sleep and a beer.”

eyeon’s says that Fusion Linux's performance, usability and render quality is equal to the Windows version. Compositors can also use Fusion plug-ins on Linux, including After Effects plug-ins.

Fusion Linux will initially be made available to a limited number of companies who Eyeon will work closely with to control the technical and support issues associated with Linux’s wide variety of distributions and hardware setups, according to the company.
