CALL FOR ENTRIES: Filmaka On The Road competition

Wednesday 06 Aug 2008 - 10:05

Filmmaking organization Filmaka is offering short-filmmakers the chance to win funding for their a full-length film through a staged competition. To qualify, entrants must first win one of Filmaka's monthly short film competitions.

The theme for this month's short film competition is On the Road: filmmakers are invited to submit a one- to three-minute short film; this month's winner will be invited to make a follow-up film that will then be entered into competition against the winners of other Filmaka short film competitions.

Each month a theme will be announced. Filmaka says that this is to "inspire and focus each filmmaker's work and to ensure a level playing field".

The deadline for submissions is September 4; films will be uploaded to the site, and entrants must return to the Filmaka site between September 7 and 14 to vote on their peers' work.
