The jury at the Film Lions at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival has awarded two Film Grand Prix for the first time ever. The Cadbury's Gorilla ad, by Fallon London, shares the honour with the Halo 3 campaign, by McCann and TAG San Francisco.

The campaigns are almost polar opposites: Gorilla is a semi-abstract, minute-long TV-spot in which a man in a gorilla suit drums along to a Phil Collins song and clearly enjoys himself enormously. Filmed for a UK TV broadcast audience, the video rapidly went viral on the Web.

The Halo 3 project, promoting an XBox 360 game, is an intense four-part online interactive experience, in which visitors to the site are placed in the centre of the game's world, to learn about it through video clips. They could also learn more about enemies and hear first-hand stories from the men who were there. The project included interviews with veterans of the battle.
