NEC Display Solutions has released the SpectraView Reference 301, a new flagship 30-inch monitor. The display, which can be hardware-calibrated, features a true 10-bit P-IPS panel that reproduces 1.07 billion colours and 107 per cent of the Adobe RGB colour space. NEC says that thanks to its impressive size, high resolution and excellent uniformity, the monitor is ideal for the most demanding prepress and soft-proofing applications, as well as for professional colour-critical image and video editing.
The SpectraView Profiler calibration software makes full use of the programmable 14-bit LUT to give outstanding 42-bit colour control and unparalleled colour precision, says NEC. Other features targetting creative pros include a 3D LUT, Digital Uniformity Control (ColorComp) and Backlight Ageing Correction, which work to ensure the best possible colour stability and brightness uniformity. The monitor offers a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels in 16:10 format.
The SpectraView Reference 301 is height-adjustable up to 150 mm and can be viewed in landscape or portrait mode. There are two DisplayPorts and two DVI-D interfaces.
The NEC SpectraView Reference 301 is available now for £2,915.00 plus VAT. The package includes NEC’s SpectraView Profiler software on CD; a light-protection hood;and an individual SpectraView certification report, providing proof of the individual performance of each screen. NEC Display Solutions Europe offers a three-year warranty including backlights and a six-month warranty against pixel failure from the date of purchase. An optional five-year warranty is also available.
