Drobo creator Data Robotics has announced the DroboPro FS, a network-attached storage solution for small studios that offers simple offsite back-up too, according to the company. The DroboPro FS cna hold up to eight 3.5-inch SATA or SATA II hard drives, with the ability to mix and match capacities, disk brands and speeds. You don't need to screw adapters to the drive before inserting, saving time on replacing drives.
The DroboPro FS features a new Drobo Sync application that will automatically backup - locally or remotely - all data to another DroboPro FS. Drobo Sync only transmits portions of files that have changed, while allowing backups to be conveniently scheduled.

The DroboPro FS connects directly to any Gigabit Ethernet network and supports Apple, Linux and Microsoft computer systems. System requirements are Mac OS X 10.5.6 or greater (Intel Only), Mac OS X Server 10.5.6 or greater (Intel Only), Linux (currently in Beta), Windows 7, Windows XP (Service Pack 3), Windows Vista (Service Pack 1), Windows 2008 Server and Windows 2003 Server.
