Dirt is usually thought of more as a by product of creative projects than central to it, but illustrator and photographer Sarah Rosado's latest project is all about creating using soil. For 'Dirty Little Secrets', Sarah is creating 100 images using soil as a primary material.
The images include iconic scenes associated with her home of New York – such as King Kong on the Empire State Building – but it's where she pairs the dirt forms with other elements (toast, laces, chains, a bubblegum balloon) that they really come to life.
"[I] felt it would be challenging for me to come up with an idea to shape dirt into everyday objects and accessorise it to create a 3D effect," says Sarah.
