In May, the Pick Me Up illustration exhibition returns to Somerset House in London, offering a chance to buy limited-edition prints, apparel and homewares – plus watch talks and attend workshops by some of the UK’s leading commercial artists. It’s also a great place to discover up-and-coming talent and purchase their work before it starts getting pricey.
Alongside the specially created Pick Me Up Selects series of prints that have proved popular in previous years, the organisers have collaborated with skate brand DC Shoes to offer 10 T-shirts from the likes of Hattie Stewart and Andy Rementer.
Other events include a focus on fashion illustration and animation featuring artist Daisy de Villeneuve and art director Jo Ratcliffe. Daisy is an illustrator whose work has appeared in Vogue and been commissioned by Top Shop. Jo created all of the animation for Lady Gaga's Applause music video and designed the typography of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream album.
