We were at an event hosted by Mac reseller Computers Unlimited last night, and amongst a huge number of near-identical iPad and iPhone cases from companies with unusual approaches to spelling, we came across these iPhone 4S cases featuring designs by character artist and Scarygirl-creator Nathan Jurevicius.
Created by fellow Aussies Cygnett, there are three designs: Chihoohoo’s Tea Party, Dr. Maybe’s Underwater House and, our favourite, Hootsville. They feature the same cute-but-not-cutesy vector aesthetic as Scarygirl, which is bound to appeal to the most style-conscious creative.
Scarygirl was released as a hit online game, and an Aurealis award-winning graphic novel followed, along with games for the PS3 and Xbox360. Other collaborations include projects with Kidrobot, MTV and ABC TV. An animated feature film of Scarygirl is in the works
I also got a chance to play with Wacom's new Intuos5 – first impressions: gestural controls are a good start but we'd love to see creative software developers experimenting with what you can do with it. For a more-in-depth look, see our full review by Serenity Caldwell.
