Akvis has released ArtWork version 3.5. ArtWork turns photos into paintings using a variety of techniques., and is is available in plug-in and standalone versions for Windows and Mac.
Version 3.5 introduces the ability to save guiding lines to a file, making it easier to continue editing a photo later. The plug-in version is also ow 64 bit compatible.
ArtWork uses advanced painting techniques to create works of art from your photos, says Akvis. The program applies brush strokes naturally using the contours of the original photo as a reference. You can control the effect by selectively changing the direction of the strokes using the stroke direction tool.
ArtWork 3.5 also gains ready-to-use presets for the Oil Painting style which help you create a painting in various brush techniques. User created lists of presets and can be imported/exported.
Akvis ArtWork is available as a stand-alone application, as well as a plug-in for many creative applications. With version 3.5, the plug-in version of ArtWork is now compatible with with Photoshop CS4 64 bit and CS5 64 bit on Windows and Mac, as well as with Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, Corel Painter, Corel Photo-Paint, and Paint Shop Pro, ACD FotoCanvas, and Corel PhotoImpact. AKVIS ArtWork runs on Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Win 7 and on Macintosh Mac OS X 10.4-10.6, PowerPC and Intel.
