The colours that the fashion world says are in vogue (or in Vogue, if you prefer) can be a good source of inspriation if you want to create projects that feel on-trend.
Luckily, each season's colours and styles are mapped out at least six months in advance – so it's easy to plan around this as long as someone takes the time to collate and curate the trends, which is what Pantone has done.
It was New York Fashion Week a fortnight ago, where the boffins from the Pantone Color Institute spent their time to pick a list of 10 colours that are representative of the Spring 2017 season – and then of course suggeated the Pantone colours that match them. They're a good mix of bold, cool and neutral colours – all of which will look good when used for blocks of colour.
Here's what Pantone says about why it picked the colours.
"Comfortable and dependable, Niagara leads the Pantone Fashion Color Report as the most prevalent color for spring 2017. Niagara is a classic denim-like blue that speaks to our desire for ease and relaxation."
