To promote Lady Gaga's new album Artpop, USA Today has used a logomark featuring the singer's face throughout the Life section of today's newspaper. The mark was apparently designed by the pop star and artist Jeff Koons, who created Artpop's cover artwork, in conjunction with the paper's art team.

USA Today says that duo are first 'guest contributors' to design a logo for the newspaper – ie the first time the dot has been given over to a commercial campaign. The mark is the shape of the the coloured dot that USA Today has as its standard logomark since it was redesigned by Wolff Olins as part of a wider rebrand last year. This dot is a solid blue (below) when it's the newspaper's standard logomark, but through the paper it'ss often filled with photos or other images that represent key stories from the day.
