Concrete and Baraka are set to join forces, creating a single new post production company in Soho, London. Both companies specialized in short-form media -- including music videos, titles and commercials -- but the expanded company is looking to push into wider broadcast and feature film markets..
Baraka’s existing joint MD’s David Cox and Chris Gilbert will run the enlarged Concrete, which will boast a broad array of technology. The new facility will offer six high-end HD and SD compositing suites based around two Smokes, two Quantel EQs and two Mistikas. Concrete Design, the in-house graphics and design team will also double in size and will benefit from Baraka’s long experience using 3D animation for visual effects. Baraka’s creative editing company Chop is also moving to the new premises, providing editing services based around four Avid Adrenalines and shared storage. The video services are complemented by a new 5.1 surround-sound Protools audio mixing suite and voice-over booth.
