Xara has announced a competition that offers six lucky winners the chance to have their work published in a new Xara Xtreme, The Official Guide by Gary David Bouton, to be released by later this year by McGraw Hill Professional
Six full colour pages will be devoted to showcasing and celebrating the talent of Xara artists. The contest is open to anyone and artwork can be in any style or on any theme of the artist’s choosing but must be created in Xara’s graphic design software Xara Xtreme (either using the full version or the free 30-day trial). Five judges from the graphics industry will pick the winners in early July.
The book will be written by popular computer guide author Gary Bouton, who has documented a wide range of graphics applications and techniques, including video editing and special effects, photo retouching, 3D modeling, and illustration.
Readers will see how to create both commercial and fine art using Xara and more importantly, how to develop techniques that display their own style of artistic expression.
The closing date for entries is June 15, 2009.
