Wacom has announced a battery-free mouse, pressure-sensitive pen and graphics tablet – the Graphire2 Mouse & Pen Set.
Replacing the existing Graphire Set, Graphire2 offers a range of new features including an ergonomically redesigned mouse, a sculpted-contoured tablet, a pressure sensitive pen with a new detachable pen stand; and a new updated driver.
According to Wacom the Graphire2 has been ergonomically enhanced for comfort of both left and right handed-users and is more compact. Thanks to optimized weight distribution, says the company, the mouse has improved balance, and smoother movement.
The Graphire2 mouse is cordless for unrestrained freedom of movement on the surface of the tablet, and it doesn’t require batteries. It has a scrolling wheel and three programmable buttons. Like previous models, the Graphire2 pen offers absolute positioning, 512 levels of pressure sensitivity and a double-side switch.
The Graphire2 Set is bundled with Corel Painter Classic, which works with both Windows and Macintosh platforms and fully supports the pressure sensitivity of the Graphire2 Mouse & Pen Set. The Graphire2 Mouse & Pen Set has a USB connection, and will be available from the end of August 2001 and carries a two-year warranty. UK pricing has yet to be announced.
