Following the unannounced appearance of a Mac Pro with two quad-core processors on Apple's US Web site last week, the company has added the model to the UK site with pricing details.
Adding the 3.0GHz Intel Xeon processor adds £817 plus VAT to the cost of a Mac Pro with the standard two dual-core 2.66GHz chips -- £60 more than a direct conversion from the US cost of $1,498. A choice of 2.0GHz and 3.0GHz dual-core chips is also available.
The Mac Pro will support up to four 750GB Serial ATA hard drives for up to three terabytes (TB) of internal storage -- up from 2TB. Upgrading the standard 250GB drive to 3TB costs £975 plus VAT. The remaining specifications are the same as the rest of the Mac Pro line, which are still available.
