Canon has launched three slimline, stylish digital cameras under its Ixus brand.

 border=0 />The Digital Ixus 800 IS is a six-megapixel camera that manages to fit a 4x optical zoom lens with an optical image stabilizer into a body that’s only 26mm wide when closed. Canon says that the stabilizer uses the same technology as found in its professional EF range of lenses.
</p>
<p>
The zoom lens uses a ultra-high refractive index aspherical lens, giving the camera a focal length 35mm-equivalent range of 35-140mm. The Ixus 800 IS supports ISO settins up to ISO 800, allowing images to be captured in low-light conditions when the use of flash isn’t appropriate.
</p>
<p>
The new widescreen capture mode allows images to be captured at the resolution of 2,816-x-1,584 pixels (which as a 16:9 aspect ratio).
</p>
<p>
The Digital Ixus 800 IS costs £340 plus VAT and will be released in April.
</p>
<p>
The Digital Ixus 60 and 65 both feature 6.0-megapixel CCDs and 3x optical zoom lenses. They support ISO ratings up to ISO 800 and widescreen image recording. The only difference between the two is that the Ixus 65 features a 3.0-inch LCD screen, while the Ixus 60 has a 2.5-inch LCD.
</p>
<p>
The Ixus 60 will ship in March for £255 plus VAT, while the Ixus 65 will cost £299 plus VAT when it’s released in April.
