The snappily-titled T8206 is the latest oversized A3 printer from Tally. The company claims that the product offers a 50 per cent increase in productivity over previous models at a lower price of £2,995 plus VAT.
The T8206 offers up to 6ppm in colour and up to 24 in black-&-white. It can handle up to 75,000 black-&-white pages per month and up to 18,750 in colour – and supports standard colour matching profiles including Pantone and ColorSync (version 2.12).
Also included in the feature set are 10/100 BaseT Ethernet, parallel and RS232 interfaces, with the option of LocalTalk and Token Ring. The standard 64MB of RAM allows the printer to produce materials as 600-x-600dpi, which can be extended up to 1,200-x-1,200dpi if the RAM is increased to 192MB. The T8206’s maxiumum RAM is 384MB.
The printer is based around a 200MHz 64-bit IDT RISC processor and a multi-tasking controller, which allows PostScript II, PCL6/5c and PDF documents to be printed simultaneously. It features both a 250-sheet output bin and a same-sized input bin. This can be expanded with two optional 500-sheet lower feeders.
