The Stoke Your Fires animation festival has announced the lineup of speakers for this year's event, which takes place in late February. These include Christian DeVita, lead storyboard artist for Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr Fox.

DeVita will give a talk explaining how the project progressed from the initial script through to the finished piece.

The festival also includes a day-long masterclass aimed at professional animators: Lee Danskin of Escape Studio gives a full-day masterclass on CG animation on February 25.

Children's animator Marc Silk will also be speaking, on his work on Roary the Racing Car and Fifi and the Flowertots; he will be explaining some of the benefits of working with a professional voice artist.

The Stoke Your Fires Awards take place on the Friday night, recognising exciting and innovative animation. Previous winners include Aardman Animation’s The Pearce Sisters and Studio AKA’s Varmints.

Further speakers are to be announced. The two-day convention takes place at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent on 26 and 27 February 2010.
