Sony has released what it says is the world's first 24-inch flat display wide-screen monitor for both Windows and Mac OS users. The Triniton Multiscan FW900 has an aspect ratio of 16:10, which Sony says allows two A4 pages to be viewed side-by-side at the same time. The company says the monitor provides 20 per cent more viewing space than a standard 21-inch monitor, and a 22.5-inch diagonal viewable image size.
Pitched at DTP, digital video, and graphics professionals, it offers a maximum resolution of 1,920-x-1,200 at 98Hz for Windows, and 1,920-x-1,086 for Macintosh users. The monitor is shipping now and is priced at £1,449 plus VAT.
