Sonnet announced its Fusion D400Q video storage system at NAB Monday, capable of handling most video editing needs.
The £370 Fusion D400Q system can be populated with up to four drives offering up to 4TB of storage and will be distributed by AM Micro in the U.K. when it ships in May.
The system complements Sonnet's 1U rackmount Fusion R400Q SATA storage system and will connect to virtually any computer using any one of four industry-standard interfaces-eSATA, FireWire 800, FireWire 400, or USB 2.0.
Connected to a Sonnet Tempo SATA E4P PCIe or X4P PCI-X adapter installed in a Mac or Windows computer, a Fusion D400Q system can operate at maximum speed. Through its eSATA connection, a single Fusion 400Q achieves 200MB/sec as a RAID 0 striped set, fast enough to support multiple streams of DV, HDV, DVCPRO, or uncompressed SD video.
The system is compatible with most video editing systems and will operate on Mac, Windows and Linux computers.
