RealViz has launched an automated version of its 3D camera-tracking application Matchmover. Billed as a significant update, it lets animation and effects creators integrate 3D elements into live video footage. The new version was demonstrated at Siggraph, held in Los Angeles this week.
New features include an automatic 3D camera tracker that detects 2D features in an image sequence, and transforms them into a 3D scene, complete with camera movement information. RealViz says that track selection, 2D tracking and 3D tracking are now handled automatically, making the tool faster and more robust.
The current version - Matchmover 2.1 - costs £3,525. The update that features the automated tools, will be available in an upcoming version of the software, says RealViz.
