NaN Technologies, makers of Blender, has announced that it has terminated activities and will apply for bankruptcy protection with courts in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
NaN Technologies last exhibited at Macworld Expo San Francisco this past January, where it showed off Blender - a 3D creation suite that incorporated modeling, animation, rendering, post-production, interactive creation and playback capabilities. The software had just been brought to Mac OS X as suite of Cocoa-based tools, and was previously available on Windows.
"The digital media market has shown that it is not quite ready for the Blender technology offering, both for the Internet and for wireless applications. Continuation of these products, including the Creator, Publisher and our wireless initiative, will require additional investment of human and financial resources," said the company.
