Ricoh is to launch a hybrid digital camera that plays MP3 files. Called the Caplio RR10, it sports a 2.1 megapixel CCD, 2x optical zoom plus digital zoom, and built-in MP3 player. It also comes with a swish docking station, says UK distributor Johnsons Photopia, which also acts as a battery charger.
The camera includes a 2.1 mp CCD that delivers a resolution of up 10 1,600-x-1,200 pixels, says Johnsons Photopia. The 2x optical zoom is equal to 38-76mm on a 35mm camera, plus it features an additional 2x digital zoom. It can take macro shots as close as 4cm, and other features include selectable ISO settings equivalent 200 and 400, white balance adjustment, and a sequential shoot mode to capture moving objects, says the company.
The MP3 player uses the cameras 64MB SD memory cards - with the company saying higher storage capacity memory cards are expected soon. The cards are also used for storing images captured by the camera.
UK shipping and pricing details are yet to be set.
