CD/CD-RW manufacturer Plextor has launched what it claims is the fastest external CD-RW on the market – the PlexWriter 40/12/40U.
Offering a 40-speed writing capability and USB 2.0 connectivity, the drive features technology designed to optimize writing quality. Its black tray absorbs some of the laser light than can degrade writing quality, and the drive features an optimized printed circuit board that reduces noise says Plextor.
The PlexWriter 40/12/40U makes use of Plextor’s Burn-proof technology to eliminate annoying buffer underrun errors and its PowerRec II technology which avoids disk errors during high-speed CD-recording, says the company.
The PlexWriter 40/12/40U will be available from June and costs £149 plus VAT. It comes with five high-speed CD-R disks, one CD-RW disk, and CD-recording software Nero 5.5.
