Sony has have created a one minute film for the launch of the PlayStation 3 called High Definition which it says visually illustrates HD functions of the forthcoming console.

The short begins in an elderly woman's apartment, but the scene doesn't stay mundane for very long. A mysterious woman’s voice commentates as the apartment explodes into a mass of particles and debris in slow-motion footage, which was captured at 625fps. High Definition was created by Stream.

Sony says that further films are on the way, covering subjects such as a peculiar hoarder, the new craze of ‘speed stacking’ and extreme BMX’ing.
