For users that require a truly film-like image, Philips and Pentax have announced that they are jointly working on creating a new six megapixel SLR camera. The camera will bring together Philips’ six megapixel CCD and sampling technology with a Pentax’s lens and body. The new DSP (digital signal processor), jointly developed by both companies, will raise the image quality above previous six megapixel cameras without raising the cost by much, according to Zenichi Ohkura, director of Pentax’s camera division. No release date has been announced for the camera.
